May brought a redesigned assessment creation experience, major AI feature expansions, expanded access for self-service teams, and clearer discovery throughout the platform.
Highlights
Redesigned assessment creation flow
Assessment creation has a new, unified flow that brings fraud prevention controls, AI assistance settings, and testtaker-facing options together in one place. Proctoring can now be enabled for Certified Assessments, score visibility is now configurable directly in the creation flow, and AI assistance settings apply across all assessment types.
Interviews now available on self-service plans
Self-service customers can now use credits to create live technical interviews alongside assessments and AI Interviewer sessions. Credits work across all three formats, giving teams full flexibility to choose the right experience for each test-taker.
Integrity visibility expanded to all proctored results
Integrity flags now appear on every proctored assessment or interview result. Teams can review session integrity context for any proctored test-takers directly from the reports.
AI insights enabled for all customers
AI insights analyzes the test-taker's assessment results and produces a natural-language narrative about their performance. This is only available for the General Coding Assessment (GCA) and Machine Learning Engineering Core Assessment right now, with more assessments coming soon.
Additional Enhancements
Assessments
- Plan availability filter. The assessment library and AI Interviewer page now include a filter to show only content available on your current plan, making it faster to find the right assessments for self-service customers.
- Stale question alert. When a question in your assessment has been updated since you added it, a pop-up now alerts you so you can review the changes and decide whether to update your assessment before it goes live.
- AI feature control. Admins now have a toggle on the Security page to disable Cosmo's discovery and authoring capabilities. Teams with strict content governance policies can turn off AI-assisted authoring at the account level.
- AI assistance tooltip. A tooltip now provides in-context guidance when you interact with AI-powered features in the assessment builder, making it easier to understand what each option does.
Questions, IDE & Simulation
- AI grader now available on all coding questions. The AI Grader tab is now accessible on every coding question for all accounts with no setup or feature toggle needed. With AI Grader, you can score test-takers on code quality, approach, and best practices using customizable rubrics, across any programming language, without writing or maintaining unit tests.
- Jupyter Notebook answers render as HTML preview in reports. Answers to questions based on Jupyter Notebooks now display as a formatted HTML preview in interview reports and PDFs. Reviewers see the same output the test-taker saw in the IDE rather than raw JSON.
- Custom simulation reports render inline. When a test-taker's coding submission includes a report file, its formatted content now appears directly in the screen report. Reviewers see the structured output rather than the raw file.
- Bulk soft-delete and restore in Question master. You can now select multiple questions at once to soft-delete or restore them in bulk. Managing large question libraries takes significantly fewer individual actions.
- IDE stays in sync after container restarts. The IDE now performs a clean reset on reconnect after a container restart. If a test-taker's code caused a container crash during a session, subsequent edits stay in sync and no changes are silently lost.
AI Interviewer
- AI Interviewer standalone page. AI Interviewer now has its own standalone page, making it easier to share with hiring teams and bookmark for direct access.
Cosmo & Authoring
- File and image uploads in Cosmo chat. You can now upload files and images directly in the Cosmo chat interface. Share examples, screenshots, or reference materials when authoring questions with Cosmo's assistance.
