In this article, we explain how to create a custom AI Interviewer and how to create an assessment using it.
Step 1. Log in to CodeSignal and from the Content tab, select AI Interviewers.
Step 2. Click + Create custom AI Interviewer.
You can use Cosmo to help create or edit the question.
Step 3. Enter a title and description for the question.
You can also assign a label to the question as needed.
Step 4. Click the Evaluation icon to define the response rubric.
Step 5. Select one of the following AI interviewer types:

Realtime: modern agents that use direct speech-to-speech processing.

Speech to Text to Speech: Our legacy agents, which process speech into text to generate a response
Step 6. As a next step, Choose an AI Agent and configure the Expected Duration.
Step 7. You can adjust Interruption Sensitivity (0.1–10) and optionally enable Ignore Silences to have the AI interviewer ignore pauses while the candidate is speaking.
Step 8. Select one or both of the available modalities:
- Voice
- Text
Step 9. As a final step, enter your AI Agent Instructions. Then, to review the final version of your question, click Preview in the upper-right corner, or click Continue to create the AI Interview right away.
Your newly created question will be added automatically.
