When a live interview session is conducted in CodeSignal, you are able to view a replay of the candidate's coding session, including the terminal session (if used). The recording will show the candidate's key strokes and activity during the live interview. Note the recording will not show the internal audio/video tool if used during the interview session.
This article will help you:
Search and select an interview session
1. Click on the INTERVIEW tab in your company's CodeSignal account. If you have Interview permissions, you will be taken to this tab directly.
2. To filter all finished interviews click on the Completed tab.
3. Search for your interview by candidate name or email by clicking on the Search icon.
Also, you are able to filter interviews by Interviewer (the person who conducted the session) or Author (the person who created the session).
Review solutions
1. Before reviewing a completed interview, first note the Status field. If the session was proctored, you can determine whether the session is Pending verification by CodeSignal or Complete and ready for your review.
2. Once you have located your interview session, click on the candidate's name to enter the session.
3. Here you will see the detailed interview report and each question that you worked on with your candidate in a list. Click on the play button next to the question to view a replay of the solution.
4. Adjust the question description pane to view all solution details such as Language and Submission status.
5. Click the Play icon towards the bottom of the screen to review a real-time recording of the coding session, including the terminal session (if used). Note that audio and video from our chat feature are not captured here.
By default, the replay will skip any portions in which the candidate was not actively coding. Click the arrows to the right to speed up the replay up to 32x.
Also by default, the option to follow a candidate's cursor is turned on. To turn off cursor following, click the "Unfollow" button in the bottom left navigation.
6. Note the Activity Indicator to see how often the candidate was leaving the IDE during your interview.
Share interview replays
You can share a replay of an interview session with your hiring manager or another colleague as long as they have CodeSignal Manager or CodeSignal Admin permissions. Simply copy the URL to the interview session and paste into an email or chat message.
If you need to send a shortened version of the interview link, just click on the link icon in the header.
