What to expect when you take the Data Analytics Assessment (DAA)
The Data Analytics Assessment consists of 1 coding question and 14 quiz questions of varying difficulty that assess core data analysis skills: analytical thinking, manipulating data with purpose, and communicating business insights effectively. You will have 70 minutes to complete the assessment, and you may split your time as you wish during the assessment.
All questions will be accessible from when the timer begins until the end of the 70 minute period. The coding question asks you to solve a problem by coding in the assessment itself (outside IDEs are not permitted).
In this assessment, you will be required to download and work with data in CSV format. You may use any tools you're comfortable with (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, R, Python, etc.). Please ensure you are able to download data files from our platform, and have access to tools to work with the data before starting the assessment.
Once you complete the assessment, your score will be reviewed and certified if no unusual activity took place during your session. This score is part of a larger result, your Coding Report, which displays a breakdown of your performance on the assessment
Structure of the DAA
When you begin the assessment, you will see a page with instructions for setting up your computer and workspace to take the assessment:
Once you've completed these set-up steps and accepted the assessment rules, you may start the assessment. The timer begins when you see the screen below listing all of the questions that make up the assessment. You can complete the questions in any order.
When you click a VIEW QUESTION button, you will see the question description on the left side of your screen and the IDE for coding your solution on the right (coding question only):
For quiz questions, you will see a similar screen with multiple choice response options on the right side of the screen.
